The Best Rainy Day Ever!!

We had the best rainy day EVER today! We got up before the sun, decided that we would all want naps so we got ready and went grocery shopping. Yesterday in Costco Daddy and Mommy found gingerbread house kits (did not buy one, we bought Christmas presents though: a Teddy Ruxpin and a chest of dress-up clothes) and Mommy mentioned we should make a gingerbread haunted house. We walked into Smiths this morning and they had haunted house kits. We bought one thinking that would be a fun addition to our Halloween decor. Attached are pictures of our fun adventure, Mommy helped put it together and then started dinner while Daddy and Bailey added candy. Then all hell broke loose. The jelly beans on the peak of the roof suddenly crashed down into the center of the house. Then as Daddy desperately tried to fix it, the walls caved in too. So he started over. Bailey got bored with the whole lets-rebuild-the-house-that-fell-to-pieces and asked Mommy for an apple. Mommy was making apple-stuffed pork chops, so she sliced one for her. Then as Daddy got more frustrated, Bailey got more bored and d

ecided that playing with her babies was more fun than watching Daddy salvage the house. Eventually all hope was lost. Daddy did make an awesome spider though, and the gingerbread was decent for being made in a factory. The jack-o-lantern gum balls were yummy, as was the icing.

Baby Update

So for the past couple of weeks I've been having contractions. Some of them really seriously painful and hard, some of them not so bad. Last Friday night I had to go to work late and help with an inventory count. I had left so we could go see the lender and by the time I got back I pretty much walked the plant for an hour before they sent me home. It was pointless, but at least I showed up. I got brownie points for that I guess. So I got home and was having some serious contractions, went to bed and was able to sleep. Saturday morning I got up and had to help with the inventory count again and when I got home I was having some more contractions. Add in a shopping trip and I was in some serious pain. By the time I called it quits they were about two-three minutes apart and every third one was bad enough I couldn't walk or talk through it. So I laid down, eventually they eased up. Sunday I laid around all morning, but the second I got up even to go potty the contractions started up. By Monday morning I was pretty concerned, so I called and went to see Guy that afternoon. He checked baby, doing good, but I'm dilated to a 3. My cervix is still thick and pretty much where it should be, so he sent me home with Trebutaline and I was told to take them when needed. So I took some that night, I was okay as long as I was laying down but when I got up the meds hit me. I started getting really jittery and got a really bad headache. I finally got to bed, went to work on Tuesday and was okay, went to work on Wednesday and they started about 1:00. I took some more pills, they didn't help a whole lot, I was in a constant state of irritation and everyone who came near me got snapped at. I got home at about 5:00 after asking Nancy to come get me cuz I knew I couldn't drive, laid down, took more meds, and they finally stopped somewhere around 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning they were gone, I went to work and after about half an hour they started in again, one to three minutes between two minute contractions. So I called the doc, they wanted me in asap. I went in, cervix is still okay but they did a neonatal test of some sort. If it's positive, I'm delivering within the next two weeks, if it's negative we're okay. I was put on bedrest until the results came back. I also had to take the meds every four hours. They threw me for an absolute loop, I had migraines, my heart was racing, I was sweating, I was jittery and shaking, it was NOT a fun experience. The effects would start wearing off and the contractions would kick in, so it was a lose-lose situation. I obediently stayed in bed, Dennis stayed home with me and Nancy came that night while he went to the Utah game (go Oregon State, we still love you) and took Bailey home with her. I stayed home Friday, Judy from Guy's office called and the test came back negative. I stopped taking the meds when my 24 hours were up and the contractions were stopped for the most part. We went shopping to Costco that afternoon, I was okay but that's all I did other than lay in bed. Today has been good, we went shopping and then commenced quite the adventure (post coming next). Contractions on and off, I'm going to get a good movie, put my feet up and eat some ice cream. Monday we're back to work, so we'll see how that goes.
